Writing Tip: The Obstacle is the Way

from Daily Stoic
This philosophy is at the heart of dramatic action. When a character's want/need is deep, they have to fight past the obstacle. They can waffle on the decision. They can choose multiple ways to go around, but in the end, the obstacle is the way forward.

The suspense of whether or not the character succeeds, or what they will or will not do to get past it, can infuse drama into the story. Look no further than No Way Home as an example!

Keep writing!
