NJ Thespian Festival 2021

This past week, the Young Playwrights Guide adjudicated the new play submissions for the NJ Thespian Festival 2021. The play selected for a workshop reading at the festival is by a young writer from Cranford High School. Many years ago, when I worked at Writers Theatre of NJ, I coordinated and occasionally taught, playwriting residencies in the Cranford schools. I'm curious to find out of this writer was a part of that program before high school.

I will be joined by Darin Earl, Shabazz Green, and Mikayla Petrilla who will read the script at the workshop. A discussion with the playwright will follow the debut reading.
